Hi Friends,
I have done a bit of reading on how the row based tables can be turned to column based table using ALTER.
However, I would like to know what would be the implications of switching the table types( from Row based to column based and vis versa) when the data is already loaded in the tables.
My requirement is that we have some tables(expected to be approx 30 mill records when we go-live) in the non-sap source and we will load that into HANA. In HANA we are not creating any Info models, however we will be using the SQL and procedures( which we've been using in the legacy system) to do all the calculations reqired from the tables which we have loaded into HANA from a non-SAP source.
So my question is (with 30 mill records in Hana and keep adding more and more) I am looking at both good read and write performence. Hence when we switch from Row( when writing) To column (when reading) and other way round as well, can we acheive the desired performence?. Or does it have more unpredictable implications?.
Can some one please throw some light on this?.
Your help is appreciated.
Regards
